Healthy Recipes

Hey Everyone!

I live in a little apartment and I have a hard time cooking on a budget that is healthy. Sometimes it is a lot easier to get junk food... Unfortunately for me I have JFI; Junk Food Intolerance. When the love of junk food is satisfied... things get messy. Just today, I went to the gym after a day trip out of my usual radius. And, as you all know when you are on the road for long periods of time and get hungry, you stop at the nearest, fastest, greasiest place and eat. As you are eating your thought process goes something like this: "Hmm... what do I want?... Nothing too unhealthy... I'm trying to get healthy... soo... hmm...oh! That sounds delish!! Oh wait... that's really calorie dense... but I normally eat really well so just this one time...." Then you order whatever Heart Attack Super Size you want and sit down. "Hm... this is a lot bigger then I remembered... Oh! It's so yummy!! How did I survive without this?? Ooooh..." And you eat... and eat... and... Eat. Finally you finish and if you have JFI, you start feeling the sourness in the back of your throat, your tummy starts a revolution of growls and rumbles and pain, and you are honestly sick.

Here's the thing; your body is a wonderful, functional machine. It is made in perfection of what it is designed to do; take care of you. Think of it this way. If you have spent 20 years investing in your beautiful dream car and you take it to the gas station to get filled, are you going to pump it with regular gas? You know, the lowest grade gas you can buy at a gas station? Then turn around, get in your dream car and expect it to run well? NO! You know that extra few cents or dollar to upgrade that gas is what your car needs to run efficiently and healthily. Right? Then why are you cramming the lowest kind of fuel into your body? Why are you doing that to yourself then expecting your body to be fine with that? Spend that extra dollar, spend that extra time and do your body well! Your body is something you've invested in your whole life. You can't get another body. So treat it like your would treat it like it's priceless.

So now that I have circled around and around, I will start posting little simple healthy/healthier (have a treat day if you want, just limit it) recipes. If you have any, send it to me and I will be thrilled to post it under your name! Or if you wish to remain unnamed, I can do that to :) Take care everyone! And be well.
